You see I coached students for years who would see 10-50+ pounds lost in a very short matter of time, medications reduced if not eliminated, they would report looking and feeling years younger……but a matter of months after our coaching sessions ended they went right back to where they started.
I was dumbfounded. How in the world could they go back to the diet and lifestyle that was the reason they were sick and came to me for help in the first place? It finally hit me after seeing my sons, ages 10 and 7 who could go to birthday parties, Christmas parties, and Halloween trick-or-treating and say no to all the sugar and junk food when I had 60+ year-old students who couldn’t.
Before I changed anything about my son’s lifestyles or diets I explained to them “WHY” we were doing what we were doing. They understood food as medicine or poison and which was which. So saying no to eating poison was easy……they understood why!!
My students were simply doing all the things I told them to do, and it worked! Until they did not have me there telling them what to do anymore. That is when I knew I needed more time with students, like I have with homeschooling my sons so that I can teach them WHY we are doing what we are doing!!
