I have been there too friend. Eleven years ago after having my youngest son something in my body was off. Like way off!

What does a hormonal imbalance have to do with losing weight?

Our hormones control our brain’s ability to tell us when we are hungry or full. Not only do our hormones regulate our appetite but hormones also help our bodies maintain energy levels.
In the medical field, they even refer to them as hunger hormones or Satiety (fullness) hormones.
Fat storage and breakdown are strictly regulated by certain hormones in our bodies.
Hormones regulate our energy by influencing the number of calories we use for energy each day.
For these reasons, the functions of the hormone levels may lead to weight gain or weight loss in the case of hyperthyroid.
A quick note before you are mad you did not get the “weight loss hormone disorder” called Hyperthyroidism, trust me you don’t want this one either.
It is possibly worse than hypothyroidism it has very dangerous effects on the heart and often turns into hypothyroidism anyhow.

Where so many people get weight loss wrong is by starting with trying to lose weight.
The extra weight is not the root problem. If we think cause and effect the weight gain is the effect NOT the cause.
Trying to fix the effect without getting to the root cause is like cutting oranges off the tree thinking that will kill the tree.
No friend, you will have just wasted a lot of time and effort picking oranges when you should have cut down the tree.
The analogy I love most to drive this point home is our bodies are like cars. The outer symptoms we see such as; weight gain, dry hair, acne, low energy, mood swings, depression, and so on are the BIG RED CHECK ENGINE light coming on.
This is our body sending us the message,
“Hey, you! Something under the hood is WRONG!!”
By looking to create the symptoms, not the cause essentially you are just attempting to turn the light off without fixing the problem under the hood.
The symptoms may temporarily see improvement but the second you quit the diet the weight boomerangs back on and brings with it some friends!
This is why the diet and weight loss industry in the US is a multi-billion (with a B) dollar a year industry.
Because trying to fix the problem from the outside in is nothing more than a crash-diet plan……. it simply does not work!

Hormonal Weight Gain Treatment

Ok. So now we have eliminated foods that are causing the problems and/or not helping by going keto. Next, we need to be sure that we are helping our hormones by taking the right vitamins and supplements.
