How can I naturally fix a hormonal imbalance? Fixing a hormonal imbalance starts with getting to the root cause. The first place to start is food. One of the primary causes of hormonal imbalance today is FOOD. There are several other important factors in fixing hormonal imbalances, such as removing toxic ingredients found in our household and our personal hygiene products as well as implementing a good exercise routine.

Today we are going to cover each of these topics in greater detail in hopes that it helps you along your journey of naturally healing your hormones back to a happy healthy hormonal balance.

10 Natural Ways to Balance Your Hormones
How can I fix hormonal imbalance fast? This is one of the top searches on Googled as well as one of the top questions I get from readers and coaching students when it comes to hormonal imbalance.
With good reason, there are a whole host of negative symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance.
- Hormonal Imbalance Weight Gain and/or the inability to Loose Weight consistently holds the #1 spot at the top of the list for hormonal imbalance issues
- Hormonal Cystic Acne – Here is a great post to check out next if this is something you are struggling with: (link post)
- Hormonal Belly. Gaining weight in the belly, butt, hips, and thighs that will not come off. This is most common in women (and men) around the age of 40 entering pre-menopause and menopause, giving the “pair-shaped” weight gain
- Fatigue is often another list topper when it comes to hormonal imbalance.
- Hormonal Imbalance Insomnia, which also leads to obesity.
- Extreme mood swings and irregular menstrual cycles
- Overeating and food addictions. Our hormones send the signal to our brains we are full, when there is a hormonal imbalance the brain is not getting the signal and the body is often craving carb-heavy sugar-loaded foods as an effect of the signal lines being jammed as well.
These are obviously not all of the symptoms, but it is often the most common and first symptoms people have with hormonal imbalances.
10 Natural Ways to Balance Your Hormones
Eating enough protein with every meal. Eating the right amount of protein with every meal is extremely important. And most women in the US do not eat adequate amounts of protein with every meal.
Protein provides essential amino acids that our body cannot make on its own. These amino acids help our body produce protein-derived hormones, called peptide hormones.
The peptide hormone’s role in our body is to regulate many psychological processes vital for good mental health, boost metabolism, control appetite, control stress, and aid in reproduction.
Eating the right amount of protein also helps our hormones send the “I’m full” signal to our brains.
A good general rule of thumb is 20-30 grams of protein per meal.
I am not a fan of weighting or calculating foods as it is not realistic long term. However, to make sure you are able to identify how much protein your body needs and what that looks like on your plate here is a great protein calculator to use.
Foods that Balance Hormones for Weight Loss
The best foods for balancing hormones are foods that do not cause inflammation. The eating style I used to heal my thyroid, or hypothyroidism, and lose over 50 pounds that I have kept off effortlessly for the last 6+ years was Clean Keto.
Clean Keto is the keto diet minus dairy and with the aim to eliminate most if not all processed foods even if they are “low-carb friendly”.
I know, I know, I can literally feel you cringing through the screen. But the reason you do not want to give up foods like gluten, dairy, and sugar is that they are HIGHLY addictive!
Foods known as hyper-palatable foods, aka highly addictive foods, are foods that have been created in a lab somewhere. I like to call these foods Frankin foods.
The chemists measure everything from the color to the taste, smell, and size of the foods to ensure that you will EAT MORE OF THEM!
It is a pretty nasty little trick, isn’t it?
Clean Keto Meal Planner for Weight Loss
Allow me to offer you the BIG red easy button here. When I started keto years ago the Custom Keto Meal planner did not yet exist. I spend countless hours researching and meal planning and I still got things wrong for months.
Today not much has changed. When I tell people to start clean keto to help reset their hormones I hear, “oh, I tried keto once it did not work for me”. I have found one of two reasons why in almost every person who has said this to me.
- They quit too soon, normally because they got what people call the Keto Flu. There is a 3-4 week detox phase. Yes, I said detox, as in the same thing people addicted to drugs or alcohol goes through just in case you didn’t think food addiction was a big deal.
- They were doing it wrong.
For under $40 per month, the Custome Keto Meal Planner gives you a quick quiz. First, it identifies your taste buds and food preferences. Then, it gets some personal info and your weight loss goals. It then calculates a weight loss version of keto and does all the weekly meal planning, they even throw in a shopping list to boot!
All for about the price of one out-to-eat meal.
Now let’s look at the 11 Best Foods for Healthy Hormones.
Now that we have identified what foods to eliminate easily but just start the Clean Keto diet for 90-days to six months. Now let’s look at the 11 Best Foods for Healthy Hormones.
- Eggs
- Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Beef

Vitamins that Balance Hormones
I have a post on the blog for the Top 10 Vitamins for Hormonal Acne if you want an in-depth post with all the vitamins I take to keep my hormones happy. But if you are just starting out that might be a bit overwhelming.
So let me recommend what I refer to as the Multivitamin for Happy Hormones.
Hormonal Harmony HB-5 is by far one of my favorite supplements for hormonal support and if you click the link above you will most likely see a lot of weight loss testimonies.
Though it is not a “diet pill”, it is a 100% natural supplement, when you begin balancing and healing hormonal imbalance the weight loss happens naturally.
I will tell you I do not agree with the “just take this pill and the weight will fall off” message they portray, I know food plays a massive role in creating the problem so to STOP the problem you have to get to the root of it.
Otherwise, as soon as you miss the HB-5 supplement if you happen to be one of the people who see amazing weight loss without food changes all of the weight, then some will boomerang right back on.
But you do you boo, don’t say I did not warn you, friend.

Side Note: I am not a medical doctor, I am an everyday person like you who was frustrated and did not want to be on medication my whole life without ever actually fixing the problem. I share how I used food as medicine, clean nontoxic living, and modern scientific tools and research to heal my autoimmune system and be free of all medication in hopes that you can find your own healing journey too.
