In this part of my interview with Simone, she brought up such a great point! When it comes to health our health is not the only one we are worried about. In a recent article by The Center for Childhood Obesity, they reported that a child has a 50% chance or higher of being obese if one parent is obese, and a shocking 80% chance or higher of obesity if both parents are obese.
Now even though in Simones’s case we are talking about PCOS, which is a hormonal imbalance, guess what both her mother and grandmother also suffer from, PCOS! You may be thinking, well it’s genetic. Simone thought the same thing. In the interview, she said that honestly, she had just resigned to the fact that “this must be it” for her in life, after all, it was the same for her mom and grandmother.
But research has also found that only 3% of disease is actually genetic, so 97% of disease is what they call “inherited”. This means whatever diet and lifestyle the parents had that gave them the disease is the same diet and lifestyle the children are also following, which means they will most likely get it as well.
Just like the airline stewardess says, “Parents put on your air mask first then help your children.” The same goes for our health. We cannot teach our children a healthy vibrant way of life unless that is the lifestyle we are living ourselves first.

Wow that was an amazingly powerful story of how following the right plan can really help get you to your goals faster! In the Longevity Lifestyle Blueprint Course, I share with you over a decade of my research on how I healed my autoimmune system (hypothyroidism) dropped over 50 pounds, and was able to get off all thyroid medication even though multiple doctors said it could not be done. - Food – This is where about 80% of your overall health is rooted. What we eat and when we eat 100% will be the biggest needle mover in your health and this is one part most people get sooooo wrong, myself included for many years. Again, it is confusing as hell to try to connect the dots. Find foods under hidden names in the ingredients lists, and know which foods are poisoning your body slowly, not to mention food addictions.
- Fitness – Fitness over 40 is a whole other ball game, my friend. Most of us raised in the late 80s and early 90s were fed one of the biggest lies “eat less and work out more”. Aka the ol’ calorie restriction diet (starvation diet) and cardio, cardio, cardio. This might have worked for you in your 20s or 30s but it was because your hormones were at their peak and carrying you, after 40 well that’s no longer the case!
- Sleep – Sleep has to be the #1 most overlooked aspect of people’s health being overlooked. I tell my students all the time the rule of sleep is bad sleep = bad health. Period. In the sleep module, I share all my secrets on how we got my husband to sleep from the low 60s to the high 80s (PS he is 47, as a side note most people’s sleep does not get better with age)
- Hormones – Throughout the entire course you are learning all about your hormones and how to keep them happy but in the last module of the 31-day course we pull back the curtains so you can see what the heck is going on with our bodies after age 40, knowledge is power and not knowing is detrimental.
