These Paleo Sheet Pan Banh Mi Meatballs are quite possibly the easiest and most delicious meatballs I have ever eaten! This is a quick easy one sheet pan meal where our veggies cook with our meatballs and are ready in under 30 minutes with little clean up needed.
With Asian flavors exploding in your mouth the options for using these meatballs are honestly endless! These meatballs are Soy Free, Sugar Free, Gluten Free, and Seed Oil Free!

We love to eat these meatballs with Asian roasted veggies, in Paleo Banh Mi style sandwiches, or in a big bowl of ramen or paleo pho soup. What most people do not know about American Asian food is it is LOADED with sugar and seed oils (such as GMO packed soy).
Sadly, Americans have found a way to ruin the healthy cultural tastes of Asia, as we have with so many other foods.
This blog was created to share clean organic whole foods style recipes as I myself used food as medicine to heal my autoimmune system (click here to read more on how I did it). I love how Dr. Mark Hyman, one of my favorite functional medicine doctors, Dr. Hyman said, “Food is either medicine or poison, it is either nourishing your or slowly killing your body there is really no grey area” (loosely quoted)
The SAD Diet – Standard American Diet
There is no irony in the acronym SAD being what stands for the Standard American Diet. America is one of the sickest nations in the world. When the “C” word pandemic hit the world Americans death rates were somewhere around 60-80% higher than the rest of the world.
Why?
Because so many Americans are living with cronic illness and disease. In the form of endocrine (hormonal disfunction or disease such as autoimmune disease), high blood pressure, diabetes, and the list goes on and on.
Though the in-depth discussion on this can be tabled for another time. What we can say to sum it up is – the foods in our Standard American Diet is the root cause to the sickness pandemic we see today.
From all the frankin-foods created in labs that contain little if any actual natural foods. To the industrial farming practices that is not only making people sick but destroying our ecosystems (making earth itself sick in the process).
The food you are eating is either medicine and nourishing your body or it is slowly poising it…. choose well.
Paleo Sheet Pan Bahn Mi Meatballs
I know when we hear the word meatball the first food that comes to mind is most likely the Italian meatball. But move over Italian meatball because this Vietnamese inspired meatball is sure to steal your thunder!
There is also a secrete ingredient in this meatball, the radish. I know I know I hear you thinking, ummmm I think I will leave that out. “I am not a fan of radishes”.
Well, friend, you would be doing yourself and this recipe an injustice if you did. Do me a favor as your friend and at least try it in your first making of these meatballs.
There are also three options as far as a meat as the base of these meatballs. I have tried and love all three but we do have a favorite in our house….but I encourage you to mix it up and try all three you never know you might prefer a different one than we do.
Banh Mi Meat Options:
- organic ground turkey
- organic ground chicken
- organic ground pork
If you happen to live in smaller more rural areas without access at your supermarket to organic meats check out Butcher Box. They offer home delivery options to help! Meat is a key area of concern with the horrible industrial meat farming practices and not something you want to put into your body.
That being said we love the organic ground turkey the best for our Paleo Bahn Mi Meatballs. This was rather surprising as most of my Asian dishes I use ground pork for. Also, you can mix and match meats.
For example; we love to double the recipe because it freezes amazingly well. Then for leftovers later we just reheat them in our air-fryer (if you are still ever using your microwave – do a quick google search at the harmful effects that has on your health).
So, I will take 1 pound of pork 1 pound of turkey and mix them together. This is another great way to really up the flavors in any of your meatballs or meatloafs!
Other ingredients you will need:
- coconut aminos
- fish sauce
- garlic
- paleo mayonnaise (we love primal kitchens because they never use seed oils)
- radish
- sriracha (sugar-free)
- zucchini squash
- Vietnamese pickled veggies or kimchi
- cilantro & jalapeno for toppings (optional but recommend)
How to Prepare Paleo Bahn Mi Meatballs
Let us start by pre-heating the oven to 375° (190° C). These are after all easy-peezy sheet pan meatballs.
While we are pre-heating our oven, in a large glass bowl mix together:
- 3 pds ground meat (organic chicken, turkey or pork)
- 1/4 cup of coconut aminos (we love brags amazon linked below)
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- green onions (optional)
- cilantro (optional)
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp paleo mayo (we love primal kitchens amazon link below)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped radish (this is the secret to these meatballs don’t skip it even if you think you don’t like radishes – trust me friend)
- 1/4 cup (sugar-free) sriracha (plus more for garnish)
Once you have mixed these ingredients well let them set for 10-15 minutes before making them into meat balls this gives the meat time to maranaid.
While we are letting our meat marinade, chop 3 large zucchinis and place them on a parchment lined sheet pan. This will make this sheet pan meals clean up a breeze.
Drizzle some olive oil over your zucchini, add salt, pepper and garlic powder and your veggies are ready.
Now, back over to our meatballs. By now your Bahn Mi meat is ready to be formed into meatballs and placed on your lined sheet pan with your veggies.
Bake time is 15 minutes or until your meatballs are brown and cooked through (please be sure to use a meat thermometer if you are unsure).
