There are so many benefits to working out at home! Starting with eliminating the hurdle of getting ready and getting to the gym. The travel time to the gym on average 30 minutes per day or more, and the cost of a gym membership which is on average in the US is $100 per month ($1200 per year).
In today’s post we will be going over the best weight loss exercises at home and the at home workout equipment to get you started!.
Before we hop into the best weight loss exercises and at home workout equipment we need to address the elephant in the room.
Why are you wanting to lose weight?
The answer to that question will determine if you need to skip over the next section or not.
If you said something like, “I have a vacation coming up and want to drop 5-10 pounds and firm up for the beach.”
Then you can skim the next section for helpful tips on dropping the weight fast by cleaning up your diet for the next couple of weeks.
If you answered something more along the lines of, “no matter what I do the weight will not budge” and losing weight feels like attempting to swim up a typhoon type current then DO NOT skip the next section!!
Hormonal Imbalance & Weight Gain
After having my youngest son my hormones were out of wack. I once did a 7-day water fast, this was not to starve myself to lose weight though I hoped some of the 50+ pounds that would not budge would drop away. The fast was for spiritual reasons.

Six months after this fast the terms hormonal imbalance and hormonal weight gain came to my attention.
Two years after having my youngest son and thousands of dollars worth of testing later I was told that I had Hypothyroidism.
Turns out more than 12% of the US population have Thyroid Disease, an estimated 20 million Americans.

How to treat Hormonal Imbalance

The other option is request a full hormone panel with your doctor. However, if can find a functional medicine doctor near you that would be even better.
Funtional medicine doctors take a holistic approach to health.
For example, a traditional medical doctor could see your hormone panel results recommend medication and send you on your way.
Though medication can be helpful while we are healing our hormones this is not fixing the root cause of the problem and you would be on medication for the rest of your life.
Not what we want.
Be selective when choosing your doctors. Find one who knows if there is a hormonal imbalance there is more to the problem than meets the eye and wants to help you find it.
Food Matters
In looking to heal hormonal imbalance and stop hormonal weight gain we have to consider things that are interfering with our hormones. Diet is a good place to begin.
It took me almost two years of trial and error to finally find something that worked for my body. When I started Keto I lost around 30 pounds in the first 60 days.

The Essentials
There are a few things that are basic essentials for any at home gym. These things are not expensive. They take up almost no space, and almost all fo them you can travel with!
